Privacy policy

appfox.com is operated by WOW Site Expert SRL, Str. Liliacului 16, Baia Mare, Romania (“we”). Because we are established in the European Union, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to everything we process, wherever you are. This policy also covers the disclosures required by California law (CCPA and CalOPPA).

What we collect

  • The website address you enter in the checker, and the report we generate for it. Reports are about websites, which are public; they’re reachable only through their private link.
  • Your email address and phone number, only if you type them into a form (for example to request a plan).
  • Business contact details published on business websites — such as a company name and the email address listed on its contact page — which we use to send a business a report about its own website.
  • Basic visit records when a report is opened: IP address, browser type and time, so we know whether a report was seen.

We don’t use Google Analytics, advertising pixels or any third-party tracking on appfox.com. The only cookie is a session cookie that keeps the forms working; it disappears when you close the browser.

Why we use it

  • To produce the report you asked for, and to reply when you request a plan (GDPR legal basis: your request).
  • To email businesses a short note about their own website’s results, with a one-click unsubscribe in every message (legal basis: legitimate interest in offering our services to businesses).

Who processes it for us

Our servers are in Romania. Emails are sent through Mailgun. To build a report we send the public website address to Google’s PageSpeed service, and a screenshot of the public homepage to Anthropic for the design review. These providers process data only on our behalf.

How long we keep it

Reports and visit records: up to 24 months. If you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address on a do-not-contact list, so we never write to you again.

Your choices and rights

  • Unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of any email, or by replying “unsubscribe”.
  • Access, correct or delete what we hold about you, or object to its use, by emailing [email protected]. We answer within 30 days.
  • We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as defined by the CCPA.
  • If you’re in the EU, you can also complain to a data protection authority; ours is the Romanian ANSPDCP.
